This long-awaited renovation will begin in the fall of 2026, with a temporary pop-up Library opening at 228 South Bridge Street on September 15th, to continue serving the community. This renovation follows the 2024 updates to the Children’s Room. The toys, interactive and learning play structures, will be returned following the renovation.
Other updates to the building include a dedicated Teen Room, 7 various sized study and collaboration rooms, a small conference room, a creative Maker Space, increased natural lighting, redesigned entry for pedestrian safety, and replacement of aging mechanical systems.
Stay up to date on the project where we’ve posted the Fact Sheet, the renderings of the new spaces, and a list of Frequently Asked Questions by visiting here.
We are actively fundraising to support enhancements for the project, including furniture, technology, and other items outside the Library’s budget, to make the Elkton Branch Library a community destination, which is reimagined for the future.
